The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is partnering with specialists from N.C. State University and N.C. State University Cooperative Extension to offer the N.C. cantaloupe pilot program. The N.C. cantaloupe pilot program will consist of education and outreach programs offered as a seminar in the classroom and voluntarily assessment on the farm. The programs will help cantaloupe producers to develop strategies for reducing the risk of food contamination and for handling such incidents if they occur.
