A Collaborative Partnership

The North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services (NC OEMS) and the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) have established a successful and symbiotic relationship with one another through the sharing of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) resources. NC OEMS is provided with access to data, hardware and software, and technical support from NCDA&CS GIS personnel. This allows NC OEMS to have access to advanced GIS mapping and analytical capabilities without the need to hire or acquire additional resources. In turn, NCDA&CS has direct access to NC OEMS GIS data, which can be utilized in related projects, and also benefits from the technical experience gained through diverse project exposure.
