Description: Soils data for the research station was prepared by digitizing soil maps that were created for the research station. The soil maps were scanned and georeferenced to get spatial reference information. Aerial photographs were used as the base data to perform georeferencing. NAIP 2012 aerial photos were used. Once this process was completed the soils classified on the maps were digitized, retaining the soils classification information.

Copyright Text: It is important to note some errors that occurred during georeferencing and digitizing. When original soil maps were georeferenced, there were instances where adjoining maps drawn on different pages, when put together did not match, and georeferenced maps did not line as it should with the aerial photographs, This also made some digitized soils data off by about 50 Feet in some cases. Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of information, but errors and conditions originating from physical sources used to develop the database may be reflected in the data supplied. The requester must be aware of data conditions and ultimately bear responsibility for the appropriate use of the information with respect to possible errors, original map scale, collection methodology, currency of data, and other conditions specific to certain data
