The fiber optic utility locates performed by NCAGR were executed based on NCAGR institutional memory, as opposed to being physically located with an underground utility locator device. Description: This feature class contains features mapped to represent underground fiber optic lines. Some fiber optic lines depicted in this feature class run concurrent with surveyed NCAGR owned underground primary electric lines or surveyed NCAGR owned underground secondary service electric lines. In those instances, the fiber lines have been snapped to locations that were surveyed by SGS after having been located by NCAGR during the electric utility surveying effort undertaken in Phase II of this project. Additionally, some fiber optic lines run concurrent with NCAGR owned overhead primary electric lines, with those fiber optic line features snapped to overhead electric utility poles surveyed by SGS during Phase II. For the locates that were performed specific to this fiber optic inventorying effort (where the fiber optic utility does not run concurrent with the electric utility), the fiber optic utility locates performed by NCAGR were executed based on NCAGR institutional memory, as opposed to being physically located with an underground utility locator device. The exact location of the fiber lines may therefore deviate from the location as depicted by Fiber Optic Survey Point features. The GIS data herein have all been surveyed by SGS during Phase II.
