Description: This feature class contains features mapped to represent sanitary sewer gravity main lines which are sanitary sewer lines that flow based on gravity between sanitary sewer manholes. The GIS data herein represent a synthesis of a variety of data sources.NCAGR hardcopy plans that include utilities information dating from contemporary drawings back to 1960 were scanned by SGS and as possible brought into ArcGIS, situated as accurately and to scale as was possible given the original source based on scale and north arrow information from the plans, and based on identifiable ground control (e.g. situate features identifiable from the scanned plan based on surveyed or otherwise identifiable existing features in the GIS), and GIS data for utilities were digitized based on the scanned plans.NCAGR AutoCAD data (.DWG files) that include utilities information were brought into ArcGIS, aligned accurately and to scale with project data via a protocol similar to that employed with the hardcopy plans, and GIS data for utilities were digitized based on the AutoCAD data.Select information from the aforementioned data sources is outdated (utilities replaced, removed, or altered via construction) or incorrect (plans differ from actual utility installation). Phase II is proposed to remove as much error as is possible from and complete the GIS utility map for the areas that have been mapped during Phase I where plans documented incorrect or incomplete utility information. Utilities for portions of the State Fairgrounds property were not documented by any plan and are absent from the Phase I deliverable. Undocumented areas are proposed to be incorporated into the GIS utility map via Phase III. SGS worked with NCAGR to identify and combine the various data sources so that the data herein represents as accurate and complete a map as is possible given the sources as a deliverable for Phase I.As this dataset is incomplete and contains error, SGS has provided hardcopy printouts of individual utilities for NCAGR to review as an additional deliverable to this database for Phase I. NCAGR will review, alter, and add to the drawings via a redline protocol, the product of which will initiate Phase II of the project. All data herein are identified as to their source (Scanned Hardcopy Plan, AutoCAD data, NCAGR Redline Drawing, Mapping Grade GPS Survey, and Survey Grade GPS Survey).

Description: This feature class contains features mapped to represent sanitary sewer manholes which are manhole access points in the sanitary sewer system. For diameter, material, and invert elevation attributes for inlet and outlet pipes, the protocol utilized herein for identifying pipe # is to number them ascending in a clockwise fashion from the outlet pipe. For example, the outlet pipe is the outlet pipe and the inlet pipe that is first in a clockwise fashion from a plan view perspective is pipe #1, the next is pipe #2, and so on. This protocol is designed to identify which pipe is being referred to for inverts, pipe sizes, and pipe materials via attribute fields. The aforementioned data may be recorded from AutoCAD or hardcopy plans in which case whatever data is available will be entered. In this case certain information may be absent due to the addition of infrastructure subsequent to the plan date or due to incomplete plans. If invert attributes are derived from plans and the plans do not specify the difference between 2 pipes of the same dimension they will be entered without verifying that they follow the clockwise protocol. The aforementioned data will be recorded in the field for any manholes that are surveyed by SGS. Incomplete attribute information related to inlet and outlet pipes for manholes with attribute data incorporated via AutoCAD or hardcopy plans will be completed during Phase II and Phase III as possible. For invert elevations, depth to invert will be recorded in the field with the calculation of invert elevation values made in the office by subtracting the depth as recorded for a specific invert from the rim elevation value. Finally, the rim elevation data field is identical to and calculated based off of the elevation data field.
